WELCOME TO GHVCA!

Welcome to the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association (GHVCA) Web Site. We are a non-profit incorporation that has been established to help meet the needs of all volleyball coaches in the Greater Houston Area. My name is John Turner; I am the head volleyball coach at Pearland High School. I have been elected president of the GHVCA by its board members for the 2010-11 calendar year.

As a coaches association, we will offer many opportunities for our members to grow as coaches through summer clinics that will feature highly regarded speakers from all spectrums of the volleyball coaching community. We will also offer many avenues for the volleyball players in Houston to achieve their ultimate goal of earning a volleyball scholarship to a university. We will help accomplish this goal by showcasing the incredible volleyball talent that has been associated with the Houston Area for many years by hosting an annual All-Star Tournament in January of each year. This will open up more opportunities for seniors that might not get recognized at the state level but will at the local level by the efforts of our association.

I hope that you, as coaches, come onboard to join the first coaches association formed for volleyball in the Houston area. We promise to extend our arms out to embrace all levels of coaching – middle school, junior high school, high school, and club to make your coaching experience an enjoyable one.

John Turner
